Ever since I can remember I’ve been interested
in all sorts of activities and sports. At college
I was involved in competitive sports, mainly high
jump, long jump and long distance running. I was
also interested in what makes the human body tick – especially
anatomy and physiology – so it wasn’t
surprising that at that time I decided to train as
a nurse.
I came to live in England from the Czech Republic
about 9 years ago, and it was around then that I
decided I wanted to develop a career in the fitness
industry, joining Énergie Fitness in January
2006.
I like to bring my outgoing personality and considerate
nature to my work as a Club Manager, as I’m
responsible for the well-being of all our members
and for the smooth day-to-day running of the club.
I always aim to use my demanding and positive attitude
to motivate the Fitness Team to truly work at their
best. I’d like to think that I’m an approachable
and down-to-earth person which allows me to have
a great rapport with club members and colleagues
alike.
I also coordinate the studio and teach a variety
of classes – where the most important thing
to me is to make the participants feel good in their
bodies.

Before I entered the Fitness Industry I was a Casino
Manager. I started in 1992 in London but in 1996
was offered a job working for Royal Caribbean International.
I spent the next 12 years working for them as a Casino
Manager on the largest cruise ships in the world,
setting up, running, designing casinos and training
staff. My work took me all around the world but I
was mainly based out of Miami and in the Caribbean
islands.
It was great work but I decided to come back to
the UK in 2007 in order to spend more time with my
family. Casino life in the UK is not the healthiest
of lifestyles, so I decided to follow my other passion
in life – fitness. I became General Manager
for Fitness First in 2007 but it just didn’t
feel right. So in 2008 I started my own company and
bought Énergie Fitness Club Playgolf Northwick Park.
I really enjoy training people and helping them
to improve their levels of fitness and health. I
always try to make sure that the club delivers a
friendly environment that motivates its members.
I am always open to feedback, so please feel free
to come and see me to tell me the things you enjoy
about the club and any suggestions you might have
on how we could improve things.

I have been in the Health and Fitness industry since
2000. I studied in Bradford, West Yorkshire, where
I’m originally from and I’ve been living
in London since 2001.
I boxed for England ABA National Schoolboys’ Squad
and I have three Yorkshire titles, two regional titles
and a Welsh title.
I joined Énergie in May 2006, and I teach
Boxing Circuit and Abs classes. My special interest
is Personal Training. I enjoy nothing more than the
challenge of assessing a client’s needs and
developing an upbeat and creative training schedule,
specifically tailored to help them achieve their
goals – with my own special brand of encouragement!
It’s great to see a client make a positive
improvement to their health and fitness – and
it's a real buzz to have helped to make a difference.

I’m now into my seventh year working in the
leisure and fitness industry, and it feels fantastic
to be able to say that I'm working in a trade that
I'm truly passionate about.
Assisting someone with their personal development
and helping them to maintain a healthy lifestyle
and outlook on life is truly fulfilling.
As someone who struggled with their weight in the
past, I truly recognise the importance of diet and
exercise. I’m approachable, enthusiastic and
most importantly always more than happy to help,
so don’t hesitate to tap me on the shoulder!
I joined Énergie in October ’08, and
as well as Personal Training I also teach a variety
of classes in the club. Feel free to pass any class
feedback my way, and why not attend one of my classes
some time? I am a competent instructor in Spinning,
Boxercise, Khai Bo, Combat, Core Stability and Abs.
I believe you will always be better at something
if you enjoy doing it, and that is exactly what I

As a long-term gym user, I know exactly how it feels
when you stand there and feel completely lost in
the ‘alien world’ full of unfamiliar
exercise equipment!
So I am here to help you get more comfortable with
the gym environment, and to oversee you on your journey
towards achieving your goals.
My job is very rewarding as I like to pass on knowledge
and the experience I have to anyone who would like
to change their lifestyle – and then watch
them change.
In the classes that I teach I am determined not
to let you off – I will push you to your limits!
I myself participate in many classes including ballet
and believe that anyone is capable of giving their
maximum if they are encouraged. Everyone is unique!
Apart from answering your questions in relation
to the cardio and conditioning exercise, I am happy
to advise you on issues such as body flexibility
development, as I consider this to be an essential
component of your work out. Tight, stiff muscles
limit our range of movement and in some cases the
lack of flexibility can be a major contribution to
muscle and joint pain. In some cases inflexibility
also decreases your muscles’ ability to recover
from strenuous exercise.

I was born in Nigeria and my family moved over to the UK in 1990.
I have been interested in fitness ever since I was at school, especially football which I played at club level. When I went to college I started to put on weight.
2 years ago I was a size 48 jeans waist and weighed 24 stone. Because of my height, I carried my weight well but it got to a point where it didn’t feel right and I decided to do something about it. Now I wear size 38 jeans and weigh 18 stone.
I have a genuine passion for fitness and staying healthy and it was this experience that helped me get into the fitness industry and become a Personal Trainer. It has given me the passion to help others to conquer their weight issues.
I now work full time for the NHS as a Support Worker/Activity Coordinator helping young people who have mental difficulties. I find this work extremely rewarding.
I know that you can become anything you want to as long as you are prepared to work hard enough at it! If you would like help in achieving your goals, maybe just a little more motivation or knowledge, then please come and see me.

From a young age I have been a big sports enthusiast, I played cricket for a club and also took part in swimming competitively. However all this changed during my teenage years were I stopped taking part in sports and put on a lot of weight, towards the end of my high school years I wanted to change this and I decided to join the gym and take up boxing to change my lifestyle, so I can empathise with those wanting to also make the same change as it can be quite difficult. |
