Play BASEBALL WITH THE STARS!

PLAY BASEBALL WITH THE STARS ON 4TH APRIL AT NORTHWICK PARK
Here’s a chance to play baseball with the stars – and get some free lessons!

One of Britain’s leading baseball teams is holding an Open Day at Playgolf Northwick Park on Saturday April 4th.

From 12 noon until 3pm, star players from leading National League baseball team Herts Falcons will be giving free baseball lessons to children aged 13 and under – and the kids will be able to play baseball for free too!

The final hour, from 3pm-4pm, is open to all, which means Dad also gets the chance to learn how to hit it like a pro.

The event, organised by Northwick Park and Herts Baseball Club, which is one of the country’s fastest-growing baseball clubs, uses the unique fully-automated, multi-speed baseball batting tunnels at Playgolf Northwick Park – the only such facility in the UK.

“This is something really special for local children and their families,” said Herts Falcons team manager Jason Greenberg. “Youngsters who come along will receive top-notch tips from some of the best baseball players in Britain, for free. We’ll teach them the proper grip, footwork and swing, and after the lesson they’ll be hitting the ball out of the park like a Major Leaguer!

“We’ll also be holding special throwing clinics on how to pitch the ball, too. And although we’re concentrating on giving lessons to children for the most part, we’re hoping that the older members of the family will join in the fun after 3 o’clock!”

Playgolf Northwick Park’s General Manager, Jimmy Wallace, comments: “Seeing baseball stars up close, and actually getting a lesson from them, is going to be a new experience for most people – even for the many regular customers who use our baseball batting cages every week.

“All bats, balls, helmets and gloves will be provided free on the day. It’s the first time we’ve run a clinic like this, but if it proves as popular as we think it will be, it won’t be the last!”

Adults are advised to arrive with their children any time between 12 noon and 2pm, to allow for a full hour of instruction and practice per child. Families will be able to get refreshments in Northwick Park’s newly-remodelled Blue Zenzer café, where sandwiches, hot and cold drinks and other snacks will be available throughout the afternoon.

“We hope this will create some new young baseball and softball enthusiasts,” said Jason Greenberg. “It’s a fantastic sport, which children and their parents can easily enjoy together. We hope many people come and join us on April 4th.”
